It works just as good if not better and doesn't leave the sticky residue on things like duct tape does. Tile tape is starting to replace duct tape around here. And just remember, its a temporary fix until it works, then it becomes perminent. A shop vac duct taped to the diesel tank neck kept the fuel back and the quarter kept the JB Weld from sucking up into it. +1 And used a quarter with the JB Weld for a bigger hole. I took it to get welded and it stil leaked, put some JB Weld on it and it has held for 3 years! Silicone rescue tape has saved me before. Stretch Rescue Tape at least twice its length and begin wrapping, overlapping onto itself so that 1/2 the width is covered by the next wrap.You are logged in as a guest. You’ll want to start 3-5 inches on either side of the hole. Make sure you read the instructions on the package first, and since you’re working in tight quarters here, cut a nice long piece of tape off the roll and peel off the clear plastic backing. Once you’ve found the hole (this can happen due to weathering, oil degradation, punctures, etc.) you can start the hose repair with Rescue Tape. If the steam is coming from a rubber hose (like the one pictured above) you can likely wrap it with Silicone Rescue Tape and be on your way in minutes! ![]() Open the hood, the radiator is up front (nearest to the front of the car) with an upper and a lower radiator hose.
